Silverlighted knife in Microsofts' pocket... against Google?

In Discussion with my old friend Timur Ibatullin (not a blogger) about Joels Spolsky article "Strategy Letter VI" he suggested suddenly "Is the MS Silverlight the thing Joel talking about?"Hey! Is Silverlight "a compelling SDK that you can use to make powerful Ajax applications with common user interface elements that work together"? It's very tricky, isn't it? :) When everybody think SilverLight is appeared to replace Adobe Air, its main aim could be probably Google, for example. Just compare Joels article with "Why Silverlight" explanation.
Well, and don't forget about .net framework integration... :)
